Intent
The Government of Canada is hosting the Group of Seven (G7) from January 1st to December 31st, 2018.
Assisted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for security, the Summits Management Office (SMO), a branch of the Global Affairs Canada (GAC) was responsible for the organization, planning and holding of the G7 Summit on June 8th and 9th in the Charlevoix region of Quebec and several events.
GAC and the RCMP aspire to offset all the GHG emissions (direct and indirect) generated during the Canada’s G7 Presidency by purchasing carbon credits in the Canadian voluntary market. This offsetting takes also part of the Government of Canada's commitment to reduce the carbon footprint of its operations.
The purpose of this Notice of Interest is to notify potential suppliers of this upcoming opportunity. A tender will be launched in the coming weeks.
