Note to Tenderers:
Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and
downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard
paper version. Tenderers should note that Attachement 1 (ATT 1)
contains the Drawings and Spefications Package (DSP) which
consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized
directory structure.
Work Description:
Work to be performed under this contract shall consist of
furnishing all plant, tools, equipment, materials, supplies, and
manufactured articles and furnishing all labour, transportation
and services, including fuel, power, water, and essential
communications, and performing all work, or other operations
required for the fulfillment of the contract in strict
accordance with the Contract Documents. The principal works to
be executed (and for which all materials, plant and labour are
to be supplied by the Contractor as shown on the plans and in
the specifications):
1) Excavate existing revetment materials and in-situ soils to
design elevations
2) Stockpile and reuse existing revetment materials meeting
specifications
3) Supply and install underlayer material
4) Supply and install revetment armour material
5) Backfill and grade excavated materials
Site Visit:
Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to
submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or
investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with
the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.
A site visit will be held on the following date, time and
location:
Date: October 10, 2012
Time: 10:00 a.m (local time)
Location: Contractors are to meet at the Airport Boardroom,
Airport Manager's Office in the Air Terminal Building (south end
by Air Cargo) located in Sandspit Airport, Sandspit, BC.
Interested bidders are required to provide their name(s) and
company names to Tian Lam at t•••••••@•••••.••.ca no later than
24 hours prior to the site visit. The front gate commissionaires
will only allow access to the site if previous visitor
information is provided and name(s) appear on the visitor list.
Delivery Date:
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification
of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to
be completed twelve (12) weeks after contract award.

Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
is estimated to cost around
$650,000 to $800,000.
Firms intending to submit tenders for this project should obtain
tender (solicitation) documents through the MERX services
provider. Addenda when issued will be available from the MERX
services provider. Firms that elect to base their bid on tender
(solicitation) documents obtained from other sources do so at
their own risk and will be solely responsible to inform the bid
calling authority on their intention to bid. In all cases,
bidders must indicate (when requested) on the tender form the
identification number(s) of the addenda, if any, that they have
taken into consideration for their bid submission.
