Samples were collected as part of an Knowledge and Ecosystem-Based Approach in Baffin Bay (KEBABB) program for regulatory and fisheries management processes. The data from the samples have been identified as key food web tracers linking producers, grazers and fish. Specialized analyses are required for the measurement of these samples.
The objectives are to analyze particulate organic matter from the water column and key zooplankton species for fatty acids using standard elemental protocols. The analyses will provide results for lipid classes (percentages) as well as fatty acid methyl esters (percentages) for each sample.
