Nature of Requirements:
1. REQUIREMENT
Defence Research and Development Canada - Valcartier (DRDC) has
a requirement for a Sound Measuring device for small arms
suppression units.
Purpose: To measure the impact acoustic signature of firing
small arms, specialized microphones and modules along with
software adapted to analyze the data will be needed. The
analysis package must conform with the analysis and measuring
capabilities stated in a military standard document
MIL-STD-1474D.
The minimum requirements are as follows:
One 3 channel Input Module system with BNC-
102.4khz bandwidth
160db input range,
65.5 ksamples/s sampling rate,
CCLD conditioning to power accelerometers, microphones and tach
probes
24 bit data transfer,
+/- 0.05 db absolute amplitude precision at 1kHz.
Must include battery module with integrated charger
High frequency microphone (qt'y 2)
1/4" free-field microphone with preamplifier ,
4mV/Pa sensitivity,
4Hz-100kHz frequency range,
28-164dB dynamic range.
-40 to 150C temperature range,
200V external polarization
Tripod and Microphone holders ( qt'y 2)
Tripod and 1/4"adapter for High frequency microphones
ANALYSIS Software
FFT analyzer with real time capture platform enhancement-
real time measurements on 2 channels minimum ( i.e. 2
microphones),
Integrated multi-analysis,
Has response equalisation,
Data-acquisition,
Data-transfer and post processing.
This analysis package must be customized to MIL-STD-1474D and
software is to run on Windows 7 Enterprise platform.
2. DELIVERY DATE
All the deliverables must be received on or before March 31st
2013.
3. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory Technical Criteria
Any interested bidder must submit the technical specifications
with its bid, or any official document relating to the proposed
equipment, in order to demonstrate that the proposed equipment
meets all technical requirements listed at Annex A.
Any proposal that does not clearly demonstrate compliance with
each of the technical requirements listed in Annex A will be
considered non-responsive.
