The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) requires the professional services of one (1) Technical Writer to assist in developing technical documentation for our various projects and applications. The resource must be available to work on a full time basis, 37.5 hours/week, for the duration of the contract.
The Technical Writer’s tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
- Review documentation standards and existing project or application documentation.
- Work with business analysts, developers and quality assurance individuals to better understand the users’ requirements in terms of application documentation.
- Assess the audience for the documents/manuals that are required and prepare a statement of purpose and scope for each document.
- Develop a table of contents for each document/manual and write or edit the required content.
- Design the layout of the documents/manuals/templates.
- Prepare or coordinate the preparation of any illustrations and diagrams required for the deliverables.
- Create screen mock-ups and prepare the documents.
- Develop and execute a schedule for meeting the deliverables.
- Update and maintain technical documentation as required. This could include technical specifications, business specifications, and test plans.
