Integrated Multistatic Active-Sonar Testbed (IMAST)

The Department of National Defence, Defence Research and
Development Canada (DRDC) Atlantic has a requirement to provide
research, design, development, implementation, integration,
testing, analysis, reporting and trials support services for
DRDC as part of the Integrated Multistatic Active-Sonar Testbed
(IMAST) component of the Force Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW)
Project. The Work will be focused on phases of incremental
software system development and trials, each phase culminating
in an operationally relevant demonstration and a review point to
exercise either an option or off-ramp.

The multistatic active-sonar component of the Force ASW project
is mandated to demonstrate multistatic active sonar technology
in a Canadian context, using both ships and aircraft. The
project will establish a multistatic active-sonar capability
through a combination of sensors and test-bed acoustic
processors, and demonstrate the integrated capability through a
graded series of at-sea trials. The project will have an
operational focus through the application of multistatic sonar
techniques and concepts of operations to typical CAF ASW
equipment and missions. In particular, it will develop methods
to enable the CAF to exploit the capabilities being delivered
with the HALIFAX-class sonar suite upgrade, the introduction of
the CH 148 Maritime Helicopter and the post Aurora Incremental
Modernization Project (AIMP) Block III CP-140 aircraft.

The period of the Contract is from date of Contract up to 31
March 2020 inclusive.

There are security requirements associated with this
requirement.

The requirement is subject to the provisions of the Agreement on
Internal Trade (AIT).

The requirement is limited to Canadian goods and/or services.

This procurement is subject to the Controlled Goods Program. The
Defence production Act defines
Canadian Controlled Goods as certain goods listed in Canada's
Export Control List, a regulation made
pursuant to the Export and Import Permits Act (EIPA).

The Federal Contractors Program (FCP) for employment equity
applies to this procurement.
