Project Title
Access to an online scientific, technical and medical,
bibliographic and citation database for all employees of
Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).
Background
The Fisheries and Oceans Canada libraries support the
Department's mission and mandate to advance sustainable aquatic
ecosystems and support safe, secure and accessible Canadian
waterways through the timely access to published information.
DFO library staff provides comprehensive and cost effective
technologies and online information resources to their
Departmental clients. DFO has approximately 1,788 personnel
engaged in science and technological activities in 2013/2014.
Objective
The objective of this requirement is to acquire a subscription
that provides access to an online scientific, technical and
medical database that provides DFO researchers, scientists and
other users with quick, powerful access to bibliographic and
citation information they need to find research data and analyze
trends in peer-reviewed and open access journals.
Deliverables
The Contractor's solution will deliver enterprise-wide, IP
authenticated, unlimited concurrent user access to an online
scientific, technical and medical, bibliographic and citation
database to all departmental employees in all regions of the
department.

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
procurement.
