Description of the requirement:
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission has a requirement for two (2) Database Modellers/IM Modellers.
Summary of Duties
CNSC requires the professional services of a Database Modeller to provide database design and development, database modelling and database conversion in support of upcoming IMTD projects.
Tasks to be performed
The Database Modeller’s tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide database design and development.
- Perform database modelling.
- Perform database conversions.
- Review corporate architecture strategies and directions, data requirements, and business information needs and devise data structures to support them.
- Improve modeling efficiency through recommendations on how to better utilize current metadata repositories
- Participate in the development of data modelling and metadata policies and procedures.
- Build, convert, test, repair, configure and document all components in the database environment including tables, indexes, views, triggers and stored procedures.
- Work very closely with the team members in order to maintain and safeguard the database.
- Develop and implement procedures that will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data stored in the database.
- Identify requirements for improvements to existing databases by determining users' information requirements, system performance and functional requirements.
- Ensure data consistency with IMTD data model standards and best practices.
- Advise programmers, analysts, and partners about the efficient use of data.
- Design, develop and maintain web-based database applications.
- Analyze and tune databases for optimal efficiency.
- Provide database support and advice to the application developers.
- Produce, modify and maintain database design requirement documents
- Perform and/or coordinate updates to the database design.
- Develop and implement security procedures for the database, including access and user account management.
- Working beyond normal working hours, including evenings and weekends as and when required on approval from Project Authority.
NOTE: The resource must be willing and available to work outside of normal working hours including weekends as and when required by the Project Authority.
Security requirement at bid closing: Valid Facility Security Clearance at the level of SECRET, issued by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD), Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).

Proposed period of contract:
CNSC requires 2 resources for this requirement. Bidders must submit separate bids for each of the 2 proposed resources (if a bidder proposes 2 resources). CNSC intends to award the contract(s) to the first and second ranked bidder(s) for the resources in accordance with the Basis of Selection. If the 2 qualified resources are proposed by the same bidder, only one contract will be issued to this bidder. If not, 2 contracts will be issued. The contract(s) for the 2 resources will be for an initial period of 230 days, plus 2 irrevocable options of 120 days each allowing Canada to extend the term of the contract.
