Description of the requirement:
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission has a requirement for a Programmer Analyst.
CNSC requires the full time professional services for the contract duration to develop two (2) CNSC business processes as Cases using the Microsoft Dynamics CRM (Customer Relationship Management) 2013 system. The goal is to evaluate whether these Case Management solutions meet CNSC requirements for both technical and functional requirements and to asses MS Dynamics CRM 2013 as a potential platform for developing future in-house applications.
The xRM framework provided by Microsoft Dynamics CRM provides a range of capabilities that enable solution builders to deliver the best of platform approach to custom application development. The xRM applications are built with reusable services that can span multiple applications on a single platform. The xRM framework can be extended to create business process applications for a wide range of business purposes.
The programmer analyst is expected to develop the two (2) case applications using the Microsoft Dynamics xRM Application Framework and utilize all the capabilities of the platform to meet the requirements. The software must be developed using both the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 interface customizer and the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 Software Development Kit (SDK). The programmer analyst will implement data models in CRM that fit the framework based on a traditional data model provided. The programmer analyst will develop business logic using C#, develop workflows when appropriate and develop interfaces with various internal CNSC web services when required. It is expected that web resources will be developed using HTML (HyperText Markup Language), XML (Extensible Markup Language), JavaScript, Java Script Object Notation (JSON) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
Tasks
The Programmer Analyst’s tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Interpret systems requirements documents in order to develop IT solutions;
- Create and modify code and software
- Create and modify screens and reports
- Develop web solutions on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 xRM application framework;
- Develop business process case solutions using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 interface customizer, Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 SDK, C#, ASP.Net, .Net Frameworks 4.5, HTML, XML, JavaScript, JSON and CSS.
- Document system design and detailed deployment instructions;
- Re-use existing web services, developed by IMTD;
- Maintain standard Look & Feel as defined by IMTD, when applicable;
- Create/Perform unit testing of the solution modules during development;
- Respond to bug reports and fix issues in a timely fashion.
- Develop simple reports using the Microsoft Dynamics CRM tool and develop more complex reports using the Microsoft SQL Server Report Builder.
- Provide Knowledge Transfer and Microsoft Dynamics CRM training to ASD staff as and when required.
NOTE: As a result of providing support services, occasional work on weekends or evenings may be required.
Proposed period of contract:
The proposed period of contract shall be from contract award plus 200 days and two irrevocable option periods of 60 days as Option Period 1 and 60 days as Option Period 2.
