Work under this contract involves the provision of all labour,
materials and equipment required to upgrade the ventilation
system at the washroom building located at the Blakiston Valley
Day Use Area (DAU) in Waterton Lakes National Park.
The work required under this project includes but is not limited
to the following:
Changes to the building mechanical system to improve
ventilation, including the
installation of louvers, fans and related ducting. This work
will include coring
through existing pre-cast concrete floor, wall and roof panels.
Changes to the building electrical system to power the improved
mechanical
system, including the addition of a propane generator to the
rear of the building
and the installation of additional solar panels on the building
roof.
All related and incidental work required to deliver a complete
job.
Construction to begin immediately upon contract award, with
completion no later than
May 1st, 2013. Access to the DUA will be limited during the
winter months.
NOTICE - OPTIONAL SITE VISIT
It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the
Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for a
tour of the work site.
There will be an optional site visit on November 1, 2012 at
10:30 a.m.. Interested bidders are to meet at the Waterton
Townsite Firehall, Waterton Lakes National Park, Waterton Lakes,
Alberta.
Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance form. Bidders
who do not attend or send a representative will not be given an
alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from
submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid
solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as
an amendment to the bid solicitation.
