Department of National Defence has a requirement for the supply
and delivery of 3000 meters of 2/0 awg, Stranded Copper, 15KV
Primary, Concentric neutral, TRXLP, jacketed, Underground
Distribution Cable (USD) for use in conduit, direct buried
applications or where exposed to sunlight, to the BCE Municipal
Services Section. All the deliverables must be received within
20 weeks of contract award.
The proposed bidders must meet all mandatory criteria detailed
in the Request for Proposal document.
Some of the mandatory criteria are provided below. Refer to the
Request for Proposal for the complete list.
M1. The bidder must provide documentation demonstrating that
their proposed 2/0 awg, Stranded Copper, 15 KV Primary,
Concentric neutral, TRXLP, jacketed, Underground Distribution
Cable (UD) meets the following minimum specifications::
Conductor: Copper, size 2/0 AWG;
Semi Conductor: Cross-link polyethylene strand shield;
Primary Insulation: Tree-retardant Cross-linked Polyethylene
(TR-XLP);
Insulation Level: 100%;
Concentric Neutral: Copper wires applied helically over the
insulation shield equivalent to 100% full capacity;
Jacket: Extruded Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) rated
minus 40 degrees Celsius
Minimum Temperature: 90 degrees Celsius;
Delivery Date: Above-mentioned
The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
procurement.
