To provide integrated Great Lakes nearshore framework. The purpose of this work is to develop a draft Canadian Integrated Nearshore Framework for the Great Lakes for review and approval by Environment Canada and its Canadian partners. The framework will be developed through the collaboration of representatives of Canadian federal, provincial, municipal, First Nations, Métis, Conservation Authorities, non-government organizations, industry and other stakeholders; creating public awareness strategies to obtain broad Great Lakes community support; assembling scientific and technical recommendations for nearshore assessment and setting of priorities and designing an approach to prioritize areas of high quality for protection and areas under stress requiring restoration. The Framework will be integrated to the degree possible with the Nearshore Framework development activities undertaken to meet binational commitments in the GLWQA.The proposed contract will be from the date of contract award, approximately 29 July 2013 to 31 March 2016.
