Requirement:
The National Research Council of Canada (NRC), Montreal, Quebec, wants to upgrade the capability of our Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Hitachi H7500 TEM, by upgrading the system with a new higher resolution camera. Current applications range from soluble proteins and antigen-antibody complexes to imaging of viruses and virus-like particles. Currently, we are working with Adeno-associated virus and Lentivirus. The virus diameters are in the range of 20-100 nm. We observe exosomes and extra-vesicles produced in mammalian cell culture and to distinguish these from the viruses is a challenge with the image quality obtainable with our existing low-resolution camera. This will be one of the key tools in characterizing the Viruses and Virus-like particles during the development of virus manufacturing processes.
Therefore, the NRC wishes to purchase a camera that comes with a software and a computer which is compatible with 120kV Hitachi H7500 Transmission Electron Microscope.
The work consists of supply, delivery, installation of the system at the NRC address and training on equipment use.
