Nature of Requirements:
1. REQUIREMENT

Defence Research and Development Canada - Valcartier (DRDC) has
a requirement for four (4) high-speed cameras.

Weapons Effects and Protection Section at DRDC Valcartier is in
charge of lethality evaluation for FSAR (Future Small Arms
Requirements). In the process of testing small arms, it is
necessary to assess the dynamic of small arms projectiles before
impact and during ballistic gelatine penetration. Such an
evaluation can be done using high speed cameras. This technical
specification concerns the acquisition of high speed cameras for
that purpose.

Technical Specification of the Items
Mandatory technical specifications for each camera are the
following:

a) Minimum resolution:
1024x1024 pixels/frame at or above a frame rate of 12500
frames/seconds with record duration of 0.85 seconds minimum and,
768x768 pixels/frame at or above a frame rate of 20000
frames/seconds with record duration of 0.95 seconds minimum.

b) Lenses mount compatibility for F-mount or G-mount (Nikon
lenses)

c) Sealed case for dust (field version)

d) Maximum dimension without lens: 180mm height x 170mm width x
315mm in length.

e) Power requirements: 100V-240V AC, 50-60Hz

f) Acquisition software compatible with current image analysis
tool (Pro-Analyst), saving in JPEG, AVI, TIFF, RAW, RAWW, MOV
and FTIF formats.

g) Memory 16GB minimum

h) Manual triggering (external input mode positive or negative
TTL 5V peak to peak) and synchronising mode/phase between cameras

i) Camera control with Gigabit Ethernet

j) shutter speed up to 600 ns

2. DELIVERY DATE

All the deliverables must be received on or before March 31st
2013.

3. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Technical Criteria

Any interested bidder must submit the technical specifications
with its bid, or any official document relating to the proposed
equipment, in order to demonstrate that the proposed equipment
meets all technical requirements listed at Annex A.

Any proposal that does not clearly demonstrate compliance with
each of the technical requirements listed in Annex A will be
considered non-responsive.
