Title: Hot Mix Asphalt Concrete Pavement, km 443.3 TO 451.2

Location:
The project is located between km 443.26 and km 451.22 of the
Alaska Highway, near Fort Nelson, B.C. For Nelson is at km 455,
north of the construction work area. Construction work is
within the right-of-way of the Alaska Highway, some local access
road re-alignment work is beyond.

Work Description:
In preparation for and during construction on the Alaska
Highway, km 443.5-km 451, an "Environmental Protection Plan"
(EPP) shall be prepared by the successful Contractors to meet
the requirements of Section of 01 35 43 - Environmental
Procedures to ensure the desired minimal adverse effects are
achieved. The Contractor's EPP must be approved by PWGSC prior
to the commencement of construction. The Departmental
Representative will refer to the approved EPP in determining
compliance with the plan and contract specifications. The EPP
will form part of the contract.

Work of this contract comprises of subgrade preparation;
excavation including that of topsoil, existing embankment
material, subcut; excavation for drainage installation; supply,
haul placement and compaction of Common Borrow, select granular
sub grade fill, granular base and sub-base; hot mix asphalt
pavement concrete; geotextile and other work.

To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
is estimated to cost between
$10,000,000.00 to $11,000,000.00.
