Research initiative to refine calculations of dam breaches for relatively small dams.
Background: The current research project will focus on developing improved methods to estimate the consequence failure of small dams. The approach will be vetted over the dam safety community including the Canadian Dam Association (CDA) and the Government of Alberta (GoA). If endorsed by the CDA and the GoA, potentially this could become a standard approach to analyze dam safety of smaller dams within the North America context.
