Background:
In 2013, The City issued RFP 13-1763 for the design, development, and implementation of a PeopleSoft Interaction Hub to serve as an employee portal for HR and personal information. IntraSee Inc. was selected as the successful proponent and worked collaboratively with Information Technology, Human Resources, and Corporate Services and Communications to develop myHRconnect, The City of Calgary’s first employee portal. Launched in March 2016, the implementation included the purchase and deployment of IntraSee software licenses, which remain in active use today
Since the original implementation, IntraSee Inc.’s consulting and software support services have transitioned to Gideon Taylor Consulting LLC. Gideon Taylor Consulting LLC is the sole and exclusive provider authorized to upgrade, support, and service the proprietary IntraSee software embedded within The City’s PeopleSoft Interaction Hub.
Scope of Services and/or Goods:
The City is in the process of upgrading PeopleTools v8.60.05 to v8.62.09 and PeopleSoft IHUB PUM image update from PUM 11 to PUM 21. As a result of the PeopleTools upgrade, the IntraSee software integrated within the PeopleSoft Interaction Hub will also require corresponding upgrades to maintain compatibility and functionality.
PeopleTools is the underlying technology framework powering each of the PeopleSoft applications currently in use at The City. The current version, PeopleTools 8.60.05, has reached end of support by Oracle as of January 2026, necessitating an upgrade.
Oracle will no longer release critical patch updates for PeopleTools version 8.60 as of April 15, 2026. These quarterly updates address security vulnerabilities and system stability issues. Without continued access to these updates, The City’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) environment would be exposed to increased risk, including potential security vulnerabilities, data compromise, and service disruption.
The project will upgrade the current version of PeopleTools 8.60.05 to PeopleTools 8.62.09 (current Oracle-supported release) for the PeopleSoft IHUB, PeopleSoft HCM, PeopleSoft FSCM and PeopleSoft CRM application systems. Included in the scope of the project will be the IHUB PUM image update from image 11 to image 21.
The upgrade will ensure The City continues to remain current with their Oracle underlying framework used to support the current PeopleSoft IHUB, HCM, FSCM and CRM.
IntraSee applications serve as the user interface layer for The City’s PeopleSoft HCM and FSCM systems, for Manager Self Service, Employee Self Service, and Business Continuity users. The products used provide a centralized, user-friendly platform that enables streamlined access to relevant HR and financial data and transactions.
Project timeline for IntraSee retrofit development and unit testing is estimated at 23 days of effort, followed by technical support during 20-days of system integration, 10-days user acceptance testing and go live preparation and launch to production.
