The Department of National Defence has a requirement for a
Standing Offer which comprises the furnishing of all labour,
tools, materials, equipment and supervision required to cut
trees, cutting shrubs, bushes, tall grass, cleaning up and
removal of debris at various locations of CFB Halifax as
specified.
Work shall be in accordance with Specification Job No.
W010C-12-C011 dated 2012-05-24 Herein and includes the following.
1. Brush clearing under and adjacent to buildings, antennas, guy
wires, fencing and other physical obstructions, to include
cutting down various types of:
.1 trees;
.2 shrubs;
.3 bushes;
.4 tall grass to a height of 100mm to 150mm above the soil;
.5 underbrush lying on the soil; and
.6 previously cut and uprooted trees and shrubbery.
2. Disposal of all trees, shrubs and tall grass by chipping and
spreading of chips in accordance with section 32 92 01 Brush
Clearing in the attached specification.
It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the
Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for a
tour of the work site. The site visit will be held on October
11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Naval Radio Station Mill Cove. Bidders
must communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than
two days before the scheduled visit to confirm attendance and
provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend. Bidders
who do not confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the
person(s) who will attend as required will not be allowed access
to the site. Bidders will be requested to sign an attendance
form. Bidders who do not attend or send a representative will
not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be
precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes
to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be
included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.
