Full description

The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO), has a requirement for blast cleaning and high performance coating application on approximately 100 steel navigation buoys annually from Coast Guard facilities in both Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. These buoys vary in size from 0.6m to 2.9m dia. DFO intends to issue a Standing Offer to satisfy this requirement.

The process is to be carried out at the contractor’s site; transportation of the buoys to and from the CCG base in Dartmouth, NS and Charlottetown, PEI to the contractor’s site is to be the responsibility of the contractor.

The process consists of blast cleaning the buoy to white metal and applying a five (5) year coating as per High Performance Coating Specifications for Canadian Coast Guard (2005) in a controlled environment as per the manufacturer’s specifications. In addition to the attached specifications: stripe coating, brush or roller application between each and every coat to all edges, welds, threads, bolts and other rough or irregular surfaces before spray applications.

This Standing Offer requirement is until 30 November 2016 and contains an option to extend the Standing Offer by three (3) additional periods of one (1) year each.
