The Department of National Defence (DND), Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment (AETE), employs onboard instrumentation and data acquisition systems as well as telemetry auto-tracking systems, receivers, diversity combining and bit synchronizing equipment. DND has a requirement for a system for the acquisition, recording, and distribution of multiple streams of PCM data, serial data and video imagery for use onboard instrumented test vehicles and aircraft.
Detailed requirements are specified in Annex A.
