This is a Tender for a Standing Offer Agreement (SOA). The National Gallery of Canada (NGC) requires a qualified Contractor, with minimum 3 years’ experience, to provide hardwood floor refinishing services, on an “as and when” required basis to NGC for its various exhibition galleries.
It is important that the successful Contractor understands that a very high degree of quality workmanship will be expected from them, as well as, there is normally a very short lead and turnaround time on many of the jobs. A response time of 24 hours (1 working day) is a MANDATORY requirement. There can also be multiple call-ups for various gallery spaces at one time.
Special Conditions for NGC:
The majority of work at the NGC is performed after regular working hours (5:00pm to 7:30am). Although a large portion of the work can be scheduled with longer lead time there will be demands from NGC requiring quick response to meet unexpected new demands, repairs, touch-ups, etc.
The period for this Contract is two (2) years starting August 1, 2013 and ending July 31, 2015.
If for any reason the successful Contractor cannot fulfill the requirements of the Contract, the National Gallery of Canada reserves the right to ask the next lowest qualified Bidder to take over the Contract.
Renewal of contract
The NGC reserves the right to renew and negotiate the contract for any additional terms consisting of a period of one year up to 2 years ending no later than July 31, 2017.
Bidders must (M) attend a Bidders Conference and site visit to be held at the National Gallery of Canada (NGC) building, located at 380 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, Ontario:

Bidders should bring their copy of the RSO document to the Site Visit/Conference.
Bidders should register, VIA E-MAIL, with the Contracting Authority prior to the Bidders’ Conference by giving names of people that will be attending the Conference, so that security passes can be prepared in advance.
