TITLE: Mesenchymal Stem Cell Development

REQUIREMENT:
Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) - Suffield,
Medicine Hat, Alberta has a requirement to develop methods and
preliminary experimental work on the potential of swine-derived
mesenchymal stem cells as therapeutic tools in the treatment of
various CBRNE-relevant disease/injury states, as outlined in the
Statement of Work, Annex "A".

To qualify a bid will have to consist of no less than 80% of
goods and/or services of Canadian origin.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Failure to meet any of the following mandatory requirements at
solicitation closing will render your submission non-compliant
and given no further consideration.

The Contractor must meet the following mandatory criteria at
solicitation closing:

1. Education: Primary contractor must have a MD or PhD in
Biological Sciences, Medicine, or related biomedical field.

2. Education: Proposed senior scientist, must have a PhD or
predoctoral in Biological Sciences.

3. Experience: Must have experience in the field of stem cell
isolation, propagation, applications.

4. Experience: Proposed senior technical staff; must have
experience in tissue culture, laboratory project
management/execution, molecular analysis.

Under the Code of Conduct and Certification provisions, 2003
(2012-07-11) Standard Instructions - Goods or Services -
Competitive Requirements, Bidders must submit the following as
part of their bid:

1. a complete list of names of all individuals who are
currently directors of the Bidder;
2. a properly completed and signed Consent Form, for each
individual named in the aforementioned list.

CONTRACTOR SELECTION:
The contractor will be selected on the basis of the Assessed
Best Value to the Crown taking into account merit and cost
factors.

PERIOD OF CONTRACT:
It is anticipated that any contract will be effective from date
of Contract to March 31, 2013 inclusive.

ESTIMATED FUNDING:
The total estimated funding for this contract is $220,000.00,
GST extra.
