Nature of Requirements:
ENGINE OVERHAUL - CCGC SAMBRO
The port engine for the CCGC Sambro is due for a 10,000 hour
overhaul. This engine must be overhauled in situ. The vessel
will be tied up alongside at Bedford Institute of Oceanography.
1. Contractor shall prepare the engine for overhaul. This shall
include but is not limited to: draining fluids, disconnecting
pipe work, and disconnecting electrical connections.
2. Contractor shall quote on providing all parts and labour for
the engine overhaul:
Parts
The following parts are to O.E.M. only and shall have
documentation to prove:
" reman cylinder head
" reman cylinder packs
" reman engine oil pump
" reman engine oil cooler
" reman turbo cartridges
" reman camshaft
" reman jw pump
" reman injectors
" reman starter and alternator
" reman sea water pump
" thermostats
" main, rod and thrust bearings
" hoses and coolant
" engine oil and filters
" front and rear bearings
" gasket kits
Labour
All labour must be completed by Caterpillar factory certified
technicians with documentation to prove. This shall include, but
is not limited to:
" removing and installing pump and mounting
" removing and installing engine components
" installing required parts for rebuild
" installing all necessary reman components
" cleaning and testing required coolers, shut downs and alarms
3. Contractor shall include a $5000 allowance to have Atlantic
Caterpillar inspect and verify the proper configuration of the
engine ECU. This configuration shall be verified prior to
running up the rebuilt engine. This allowance shall be adjusted
by 1379 action.
4. Contractor shall be present during initial engine start and
seatrials to ensure proper engine operation and to satisfy any
FSR warranty requirements. The contractor shall provide 1 year
warranty on all parts and labour.
5. Contractor shall provide Vessel's Representative with 3
copies of all work completed and parts used during overhaul.
The final cost for replacement parts, including any unacceptable
cores, shall be adjusted by 1379 action upon receipt of final
invoicing

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
procurement.
