contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which
consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized
directory structure.
Work Description:
Work under this Contract comprises, but is not limited to:
Removal of asbestos-containing loose-fill vermiculite insulation
including contaminated materials such as mechanical insulation
from attic of various buildings listed in the Specifications.
Removal of acoustical ceiling tiles contaminated with
asbestos-containing vermiculite in all areas of the buildings
where tiles are present which are listed in the Specifications
Re-installation of loose-fill fibreglass blown-in insulation
into all buildings where vermiculite has been abated.
Re-installation of new acoustic ceiling tiles into all buildings
where contaminated acoustic ceiling tiles have been abated.
Re-installation of mechanical insulation by a qualified
professional to match existing where original contaminated
mechanical insulation is required to be removed.
Please note that there are additional insurance requirements for
this project.
Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules
within the scope of work.
Site Visit:
Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to
submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or
investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with
the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.
A site visit is scheduled on Thursday, February 23, 2012 @ 10:00
am local time. Interested bidders are to meet at the PWGSC Site
Office at Kent Institution, Agassiz, B.C.
All contractors must wear a high visibility vest, which meets
WCB standards, for all site visits including a tender site
visit. No cameras, cell phones (of any type) or lap top
computers are allowed into institutions at any time. All
contractors attending the site visit must to able to provide a
piece of Government issued photo identification at the reception
in order to gain visitor access into institutions.
Delivery Date:
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification
of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to
be completed within nine (9) weeks of contract award.
Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
is estimated to cost between $250,000 and $350,000.

Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain
tender (solicitation) documents through the MERX service
provider. Addenda, when issued will be available from the MERX
service provider. Firms that elect to base their bids on tender
(solicitation) documents obtained from other sources do so at
their own risk and will be solely responsible to inform the
tender calling authority of their intention to bid. In all
cases, bidders must indicate (when requested) in the space
provided on the tender form the identification number(s) of the
addenda, if any, that they have taken into consideration for
their bid.
