Letter of Interest (LOI) for Ventilated Respirator System (VRS)
The purpose of this amendment is to extend the bid closing date.
The Department of National Defence (DND) has identified a
requirement for Ventilated Respirator Systems (VRS) for use in
the Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle (TAPV) platform currently
in contract.
The intent of this LOI is to identify manufacturers capable of
providing a VRS, as well as its components, that is equivalent
in form, fit and function to the system currently in the
Canadian Armed Forces inventory.
The VRS is a vehicle-mounted system designed to provide clean
filtered air under pressure to personal Chemical, Biological,
Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) masks, preventing the ingress of
lethal gases or other toxic material in a CBRN contaminated
environment. The pressurized airflow eases the burden of
breathing through a CBRN canister filter, cools the users face
and speeds recovery from extraneous tasks.
Changes to this LOI may occur at any time during the LOI
response period, and will be advertised on Government Electronic
Tendering System (GETS).
Participation in this LOI process, including the provision of a
response is optional and is not a prerequisite for participation
in a future related procurement, if any. Interested parties may
respond at their sole discretion.
