Public Services and Procurement Canada has been tasked with the a rehabilitation program of a former landfill located at 40 Mile Creek. The objective is to establish a self-sustaining vegetation cover of a historical landfill located at 40 Mile Creek in Banff National Park Alberta. The landfill area occupies approximately 12,500 square metres (m2) or 1.25 Hectare area adjacent to 40 Mile Creek. The work consists of site preparation, import and placement of topsoil, installation of vegetation (plants and native seed) and erosion / sediment control features. In addition the installation of a wildlife fence for plant protection. Subsequent work includes maintenance for the establishment of installed vegetation/plant materials.
