OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES

The Canada Centre for Inland Waters (CCIW) in Burlington,
Ontario, is Environment Canada's largest freshwater research
facility. Located on the ship canal between Lake Ontario and
Hamilton Harbour, the complex was opened in 1972 and contains
over 48 thousand square meters of floor space.

This requirement is to provide CCIW with electrical, mechanical,
plumbing, heating, air conditioning and associated building
maintenance services, in accordance with the Statement of Work
at Annex A of the Requet for Proposal (RFP) document.

Period of Proposed Contract: The contract period will be for
five (5) years estimated to start 1 October 2012 to 30 September
2017.

SECURITY REQUIREMENT: It is a mandatory requirement of the RFP
that:
1. The Contractor must, at all times during the performance of
the Contract, hold a valid Designated Organization Screening
(DOS), issued by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate
(CISD), Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).

2. The Contractor personnel requiring access to sensitive work
site(s) must EACH hold a valid
RELIABILITY STATUS, granted or approved by CISD/PWGSC.

CONTRACT FINANCIAL SECURITY: It is a mandatory requirement,
that if the bid is accepted and a contract awarded, that the
Contractor must provide a contract financial security within
forty-five (45) days of the contract award in the amount of ten
(10) percent of the Contract Price for Items 1.1 and 1.2 of
Annex B, Basis of Payment.

BIDDERS' CONFERENCE: A bidders' conference will be held at
Environment Canada, CCIW, 867 Lakeshore Road, Burlington,
Ontario, L7R 4A6, on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. The
conference will begin at 9:30 a.m., which will be followed by
the Mandatory Site Visit.

MANDATORY SITE VISIT: It is mandatory that the Bidder or a
representative of the Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements
have been made for the site visit to be held on Tuesday,
September 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.at Environment Canada, CCIW, 867
Lakeshore Road, Burlington, Ontario, L7R 4A6. Bidders must
communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than two (2)
day(s) before the scheduled visit to confirm attendance and
provide the names of the person(s) who will attend. Bidders who
do not attend or send a representative will not be given an
alternative appointment and their bids will be rejected as
non-compliant.

Bidders must refer to the RFP document for complete details
regarding this requirement including the evaluation criteria and
basis of selection.
