MANUFACTURING A TRAILER
Within the framework of spectrum management operations of
Industry Canada, it has been demonstrated to management that
there is a need to equip an autonomous mobile unit to support
our spectrum access and compliance operations. This unit will
contain, without limitation to, a multi-user workstation, radio
signal monitoring, exploration, and analysis equipment and a
telescopic mast that can accommodate antennas, all powered by
generator. Below is the list of material needs.
GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR TRAILER :
The trailer, "closed" type, in black, will be manufactured
according to the following dimensions: width = 6 feet / length =
10 feet / interior clear height (below A/C) = 6.5 feet.
The structure will be made of extruded aluminum.
The trailer will be equipped with a side door on the front
passenger side that opens with an inside and outside handle. The
door will open outward. A folding step for this door will be
supplied and installed.
The openings in the body of the trailer will be watertight and
provided with mosquito screens. Their color will be matched to
the trailer.
The interior walls will be insulated and be finished in a rigid,
white material.
A suitable braking system will be provided and installed on the
trailer including the wiring harness (if electric brakes) with
7-pin female connector.
All brake lights, turn signal lights and reflectors will be
provided and installed in accordance with current standards and
will be connected to the 7-pin female wiring harness.
A spare tire will be provided by the manufacturer and will be
installed in the floor, accessible through a trapdoor. See
"inside view" drawing in the Request for proposal document (RFP)
The manufacturer will install the telescopic mast provided by
Industry Canada on the tongue of the trailer. The manufacturer
will hook up air intake and water drainage hoses.
The equipment will be installed securely enough to withstand an
impact.
Work surfaces are made of wood, at a height of 29 inches from
the floor. See examples in photos in the RFP.
To prevent injury, the corners of exposed ends of work surfaces
will be cut on a 45 degree, 4 x 4 inch diagonal, or be rounded
with a 4-inch radius.
Exposed, cut ends of surfaces will be rounded.
Wood surfaces will be varnished.
All materials will be aluminum or a lighter material unless
otherwise required for strength.
