The Government of Canada (GC) and the provincial and territorial governments (hereinafter referred to as the ?Stakeholders?), are in the process of determining the availability of commercially available solutions for Digital Curation.

For the purpose of this Request for Information (RFI), the definition of digital curation is managing, preserving and adding value to digital assets over their entire life cycle including metadata management. The active management of digital assets maximises their reuse potential, mitigates the risk of obsolescence and reduces the likelihood that their long-term value will diminish.

Currently, it is envisioned that the platform will ideally utilize options to purchase Software as a Service (SaaS), with minimal customisations to effectively address the challenges and needs of digital curation. However, other delivery mechanisms with merit could be considered by the Stakeholders.

This RFI with its attachments is provided as information to the industry, and is an invitation for Respondents to express interest, to participate in a consultative process, and to provide feedback on the requirement for a DCP.
