This specification is for the installation of 17 highway signs greater than 3.0 square metres in size. The bid cost is to include; siting, survey, engineering, utility locates, addressing any utility conflicts, any geo-technical work associated with design and installation, engineered drawings, installation of sign panels, on supplied bases (as per the Alberta Transportation Standard), mobilization, demobilization, boulder removal, travel, clean up, removal and disposal of all signs not required in the area of replacement. And all other associated work pertaining to highway signs structures.
All sign panels are crated and located at the Lake Louise Compound in Banff National Park. The contract will also include the pickup of the sign panels, transportation to the site, un-packing of the crate if it exists, installation of the panels on engineered support structure and disposal of crate materials as well as existing sign to a regional landfill outside the park. Any damage to the sign in transport, loading and unloading will be the responsibility of the contractor.
Work will not be allowed on weekends, statutory holidays and Friday afternoon’s of a long weekend. The contractor shall provide all materials, equipment and labour required to perform the work.
For bonding purposes, the estimated cost of this project is between $100,000.00 and $200,000.00
The project must be completed on or before June 30, 2014.
