This Notice of Award is to advise potential suppliers that Keyano College has awarded the fire alarm testing and inspection services for the Simplex fire alarm system and peripheral devices to Tyco Integrated Fire & Security Canada Inc. o/a Johnson Controls Inc.
The College has chosen not to tender the scope of services as per the guidelines of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) Chapter 5, Article 513 Section 1 (b)(v) and (c), which states:
(b)(v) to ensure compatibility with existing goods, or to maintain specialized goods that must be maintained by the manufacturer of those goods or it representative.
(c) for additional deliveries by the original supplier of goods or services that were not included in the initial procurement, if a change of supplier for such additional goods or services:
(i) cannot be made for economic or technical reasons such as requirements of interchangeability or interoperability with existing equipment, software, services, or installations procured under the initial procurement; and
(ii) would cause significant inconvenience or substantial duplication of costs for the procuring entity.
