Base Building Code Deficiencies and Stucco Replacement at Birks
and Bates Buildings, 107 and 109 Sparks Street, Ottawa, Ontario.

Project description:

Birks and Bates Buildings project is to provide life safety and
building code upgrades to the Birks and Bates buildings. The
project extents are limited to the basements, ground floor and
mezzanine levels of both buildings only. The improvements
proposed in this project include basic life safety
reconfigurations to both buildings, and each building is to be
sprinklered and have up to date fire alarm detection and
emergency lighting systems installed. These proposed
improvements are the result of site investigations and reviews
of previous building asset investigations performed by a team of
expert consultants.

Work is to be completed within twenty-eight (28) weeks after
contract award.

MANDATORY SECURITY REQUIREMENT:
This procurement contains a mandatory security requirement. At
bid closing, the Bidder must hold a valid Designated
Organization Screening (DOS). Failure to comply with this
requirement will render the Bid non-compliant and no further
consideration will be given to the Bid.

OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:
There will be a site visit on October 16th, 2014 at 10:00am.
Interested bidders shall meet at
the Lobby of the Birks Building at 107 Sparks Street, Ottawa,
Ontario.
