The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Regina, SK has a
requirement for the supply and delivery of 2,650 Surefire
M600U-A-BK Scoutlights for the period of the Standing Offer -
from the date of award - 30 November 2014 with two additional
one year option years.
Offerors must submit a list of names, or other related
information as needed, pursuant to section 01 of Standard
Instructions 2006 and 2007.
The requirement is limited to Canadian goods and/or services.
No substitute justification
The item is required to allow for a suitable weapon specific
compact light system to be installed on RCMP operational
firearms. Presently the RCMP fields this light system under an
older part number and is seeking to purchase the more recent
production model that was recently improved. Given the older
production model number was discontinued by the manufacturer as
a routine or ongoing product improvement process; the RCMP is
seeking to purchase the same light system but under this new
part number.
Unfortunately to change lighting systems would necessitate
further expenditures given; the light is positioned in a
specific location via the use of an alternate offset mount to
both improve manipulation of the lights activation switch as
well as positioning the accessory to be compatible with other
operational requirements (i.e. in-vehicle weapon rack,
ambidextrous or specific operator positioning requirements etc.).
