Nature of Requirements:
Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), on behalf
of Department of National Defence (DND), is examining a
requirement for Operational Clothing and Footwear for the
Canadian Forces. The aim is to maximize the available
efficiencies in the acquisition and management of DND's
operational clothing, individual equipment and footwear while
being supportive of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in
the Canadian clothing, textile and footwear industries.
The purpose of this Letter of Interest is to inform suppliers
that a requirement of this nature and scope is being prepared
and DND/PWGSC will hold industry days that will include "one on
one" confidential discussions. Industry days will be held at a
time and location to be determined, once industry feed back has
been reviewed and the number of interested individuals is known.
All enquiries and other communications related to this Letter
of Interest shall be directed exclusively to the PWGSC
Contracting Authority by email at
r••••••••@••••••••.••.ca. In order to accommodate
administration and scheduling, suppliers interested in attending
a "one-on-one" meeting are asked to confirm their presence by
email at the above address by no later than
May 31, 2013. Late requests and/or last minute request for a
"one-on-one" meeting will be accommodated subject to
administration and scheduling constraints.
This Letter of Interest is neither a call for tenders nor a
Request for Proposal (RFP), and no agreement or contract for the
procurement of the services stated above will be entered into
solely as a result of this Letter of Interest. It in no way
constitutes a commitment by PWGSC, and PWGSC will not assume any
costs in relation to the suppliers' participation in the
industry days. Any and all expenses incurred by suppliers
pursuing this opportunity are at the suppliers' sole risk and
expense.
The Letter of Interest will not be used to create a list of
suppliers to be invited to bid on a future potential
solicitation for this requirement. Similarly, participation in
the industry days is not a condition or prerequisite for
participation in any subsequent solicitation.

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
procurement.
