Title: Hourly Equipment Rental
Location: Alaska Highway, BC

Note to Tenderers:
Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and
downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard
paper version. Tenderers should note that Attachment 1 (ATT 1)
contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which
consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized
directory structure.

Work Description:
Work under this Contract generally comprises of the following
but is not limited to:
1. Km 355 to Km 358 - Approximate 65% of units:
A. Excavation of slope (3:1) and disposal of surplus material
in old pit adjacent to site
B. Installation of interceptor ditch, Departmental
Representative will mark location in field
C. Haul and place Rip Rap material in existing roadway ditch.
Rip Rap will come from Km 319 Quarry, 5 Kms off Alaska Highway
D. Equipment to have approved seven-day timing devices mounted
to record actual operating time
2. Upgrades to existing roadway ditch including:
A. Excavation of trench, 4m width minimum, trim slopes, and
disposal of surplus excavated ditch and side slope materials
B. Aggregate source is at Km 366
C. Supply labour for perforated CSP Drain Pipe installation
D. Placement of impermeable fill (excavated Unit 3 [Clay] and
or Unit 4 [Till] material)
E. Protection of existing utilities
3. Km 575.1 - Approximate 35% of units:
A. Excavation of slope, install bench (2:1) and widen corner
(5m) at Km 575.1
B. Extend culvert 2m and create sump lined with Rip Rap at
inlet of culvert
C. Supply labour for culvert installation
D. Pile shrubs and trees for burning at location as directed
by Departmental Representative
E. Road shoulder repairs and placement of gravel shouldering
if required
F. Environmental protection
G: Supply and maintain traffic control for the work
H: Equipment to have approved seven-day timing devices mounted
to record actual operating time

Site Visit:
Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to
submitting a tender for this work and to make enquiries or
investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with
the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.

Delivery Date:
Preparation of required submittals to commence immediately upon
receipt of notice to proceed.

Commence onsite work no earlier than November 15, 2012.

Achieve Substantial Performance by January 31, 2013.

Achieve Completion by March 1, 2013.

To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
is estimated to cost between
700,000.00 to 800,000.00.
