Nature of Requirements:
VESSEL LEASE FRONTIER SENTINEL 12

Requirement:
The Department of National Defence has a requirement to lease a
Vessel with crew to act as a vessel of interest during exercise
Frontier Sentinel 12 in accordance with the associated Statement
of Requirement provided in annex "A" of the solicitation
document. The requirements and activities entailed are:
· The Vessel must be of a commercial pattern
· The Vessel must be a minimum of 150 foot length over all (LOA)
· The Vessel must provide accommodations for 35 actors
· The crew must accept to participate in a military exercise
under which the Vessel will be placed under surveillance,
boarded and searched by military and or police members.
Area of operation:
The area of operation will be in the Atlantic Ocean (2-20
Nautical Miles offshore) in the vicinity of Sydney Harbour, NS.
Period of Lease:
The Contracted period of lease will be from the predetermined
location no later than 0800 local on 7 May 2012 until the
completion of the exercise no later than 1800 local on 8 May
2012.
Sourcing strategy:
The requirement is exempt from the provisions of the World Trade
Organization Agreement on Government Procurement (WTO-AGP),
Annex 4 and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA),
Chapter Ten Annex 1001.2b Paragraph 1, however, it is subject to
the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT).
