Decommissioning and Removal of Smoke Stack, Dorchester
Penitentiary, N.B.

Public Works and Government Services Canada has a requirement
for the decommissioning and removal of smoke stack at the
Dorchester Penitentiary located in Dorchester, New Brunswick.
In general, the work consists of the tear down, removal and
proper disposal of the smoke stack material and site
remediation. All work is to be performed in accordance with the
plans and specifications for PWGSC Project Number R.061864.001
forming part of the bid document. The contract completion is
twelve (12) weeks after contract award.

It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the
Bidder visit the work site and examine the Scope of the Work
required and the existing conditions. There will be an optional
site visit on March 25th, 2015 at 10:00 am. All interested
bidders are to meet at the main entrance of the Dorchester
Penitentiary Medium Security Sector, Dorchester, New Brunswick.
Although not mandatory, all contractors wishing to submit a
tender for this work are encouraged to attend to become familiar
with all aspects of the work. Any clarifications or changes to
the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be
included as an amendment to the bid solicitation. Please note
that there is a security clearance required for this site visit.
ALL interested bidders, regardless of current clearance level,
must submit the Institution Access CPIC Clearance request form
attached as Annex C of the Invitation to Tender document by 4:00
pm February 24, 2015.
New measures related to Code of Conduct and certifications
included in the solicitation documents requires attention.
A public bid opening will be held at the Bid Receiving Unit,
Room 421, 189 Prince William Street, Saint John, N.B.
The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following
category: $250,001 - $500,000 (HST extra). Standard bid and
contract security for construction is required.
