4. Definition of Requirements or Expected ResultsThe Open Wastewater Data Model requires collaboration between Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), and a Supplier must work closely with the PHAC Data Management, Innovation and Analytics (DMIA) and National Microbiology Laboratory during this project. This project aims to develop a data model to improve the collection, completeness, quality, standardization and transparency of wastewater surveillance data for further use in modelling and public health action. The contractor will provide the data model format (schema) for a database that will store data from multiple SARS-CoV-2 wastewater surveillance systems and research projects from across Canada. The data model will be open source, with data housed in the PHAC Protected B cloud environment and will be developed to serve future analysis on wastewater-based surveillance and epidemiology. The database will allow for future expansion into other public health priorities such as antimicrobial resistance, opioid use and communicable disease surveillance. The specific objectives of this project are to develop:Meta data and documentationData model dictionaryDocumentationAdvise in the development of the technical data infrastructureData intake / collectionData validation, cleaning and transformationData mapping, standardizationDatabase specification and analytics designAdvise on the creation of visualizations and reporting toolsDashboardsReportsData analysis scriptsCollaboration and TrainingSupport international collaborationSupport the onboarding of municipalitiesAdvise on the public dissemination of data
