Nature of Requirements:
This amendment is being raised to extend the closing date from
November 20, 2012 at 2pm, until November 22, 2012 at 2pm.
This bid solicitation cancels and supersedes previous bid
solicitation number EP788-120906/A dated August 12, 2011 with a
closing of October 3, 2011 at 2:00PM.
NOTE TO BIDDERS: Important changes to the Code of Conduct that

Tender documents. These changes are effective immediately.
PROJECT INFORMATION: R.011272.002 - Confederation Building
Elevetor Modernizations - Modernization of Elevators and
Subsequent Long-term Maintenance of the Elevators (ten (10)
years plus the option to extend by up to three (3) additional
five (5) year periods) , Confederation Building, 229 Wellington
St., Ottawa, Ontario.
Project description: The work for the modernization contract
consists, but is not limited to: The elevator upgrade project
requires the modernization of passenger elevators (no.1 to
no.6), freight elevator (no.8), and the tower elevator (no. 7),
together with related electrical and mechanical work. During the
modernization contract, the contractor will be responsible for
the maintenance of all elevators as indicated in the
modernization specification. Upon completion of the
modernization work, Subsequent long-term maintenance contract of
the elevators will commence.
Pre-Qualification List(s)
In order to have their bids considered, bidders must be
registered on all applicable 'Lists of Prequalified Elevator
Maintenance Contractors for the province of Ontario and for all
the following type of equipment: Electric Elevators.
Construction work (modernization of the elevators) is to be
completed within (92) weeks after contract award. Subsequent
long-term maintenance of the elevators (10 years) shall commence
on the date of issuance of the Certificate of Completion of the
construction work.
OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:
There will be a site visit on October 18, 2012 at 10:00 A.M.
Interested bidders shall meet at the Confederation Building -
Main entrance, 229 Wellington St., Ottawa, Ontario.
Please note: The names of each individual attending the site
visit, their date of birth, along with the name of the firm they
represent, must be provided to the Contractual Authority by
October 16, 2012 at 12:00 P.M.

Enquiries are to be made in writing and should be received no
less than five (5) calendar days prior to the closing date to
allow sufficient time to respond.
Pursuant to GC6 - Delays and Changes in Work of the General
Conditions, the resulting construction contract will include the
provisions for changes in the work at the request of the
Departmental Representative.
