Digitization of 1¨ Type C Videotapes
Library and Archives Canada (LAC) has approximately 10,000 hours (6,200 videotapes) of 1” Type C videotapes in its collection that it intends to digitize for preservation purposes and, when possible, make the content accessible online for research purposes.
LAC requires a Contractor to digitize all of the content on the videotapes to MXF (Material eXchange Format) wrapped JPEG2000 files for preservation purposes and H.264 MP4 and WMV9 files for access purposes (see Item 2.2 Specifications and Standards for the detailed requirements).
LAC will require that the highest combined technical merit and price rated Bidder successfully complete a pilot project.
LAC is seeking to award one (1) contract for 1’’ Type C videotape digitization services strictly on an as and when required basis.

The contract will be for an initial period of three (3) years with the option for LAC to extend for a maximum of two (2) additional one (1) year periods of service under the same terms and conditions.
