The objective is to secure a suitable charter vessel, with competent crew, for the successful delivery of Pacific, offshore oceanographic science missions as a replacement for the Canadian Coast Guard Ship (CCGS) John P. Tully.

The CCGS John P. Tully is a Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) offshore oceanographic science vessel that primarily serves as a floating research platform for scientists from Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).
