TITLE: Temporary Ground Surface Panels
The Department of National Defence (DND), 440 Transport
Squadron, operates Twin Otter Aircraft in remote locations
throughout the Canadian Arctic. When landing and taxiing on
unprepared surfaces, there are occasions when the ground is not
stable enough to support the aircraft which could disable the
aircraft from launching and continuing its mission. 440 Squadron
currently has no means of recovering a disable aircraft from
remote unstable ground situations. Plywood has proven heavy and
ineffective.
DND has a requirement for six (6) 2m x 4m (+/- 20%) portable
composite temporary surface panels effective for self-help
extracting of Twin Otter aircraft from remote unstable ground
conditions.
A complete list of the mandatory performance specifications are
detailed in solicitation document.
All the deliverables must be received on or before March 31,
2015.
