_____
The Department of National Defence has a requirement to procure
a MiniRemotely Operated Vehicle for use in the CF light and
airmobile Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams.
The current Intermediate and Small Remotely Operated Vehicles
are designed for operation from support vehicles and are not
man-portable, nor suited to rapid deployment with airmobile
teams. In the theatre of operations there is a requirement that
some EOD teams be ready to deploy at very short-notice by
helicopter, with the requisite equipment, to conduct dismounted
EOD operations. Accordingly, a man-portable Mini-ROV system is
required to provide these teams with a ROV capability in EOD
operations.
