Full description

In line with the Parks Canada Agency Department Sustainable Development Strategy and the Greening Government Strategy, Parks Canada seeks to build a Net Zero Carbon ready duplex in Inuvik, NT for staff housing. The design of the duplex was developed by kobayashi+zedda architects ltd. based in Whitehorse. The design was developed based on consultation with staff and stakeholders with careful attention paid to maximizing the energy efficiency. The side-by-side duplex with a total floor area of 376 m2 will be 2 stories and includes the following overall effective envelope insulation values:

  • Walls: U-value of 0.067 (R-84.8)
  • Roof: U-value of 0.063 (R-90.2)
  • Floor: U-value of 0.070 (R-81.6)

The foundation system will be a space frame and the siding and roofing will be metal clad.

PERIOD OF CONTRACT / DELIVERY DATE

Contractor shall perform and complete the Work no later than 2025-03-31.

COMPREHENSIVE LAND CLAIMS AGREEMENTS

This procurement is subject to the following Comprehensive Land Claims Agreements: Inuvialuit Final Agreement and Gwich'in Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement.

TWO STAGE SELECTION PROCESS
