PURPOSE OF THIS ADVANCE PROCUREMENT NOTICE
This is not a bid solicitation. This is an advance notice of a potential project with anticipated security requirements to provide interested contractors/sub-contractors an opportunity to apply for security clearances. Note that there is no guarantee that this project will proceed.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
DND has the largest inventory of real property requiring fire protection. As a result, there are a significant number of fire detection systems, suppression systems, fire booster pumps and fire pumps that need to be inspected, tested and repaired on an ongoing basis to ensure the safety of personnel and the protection of real property in support of the Department’s mandate and mission.
DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICES
The Contractor will be responsible for the inspection, testing, and minor repair (ITM) of fire detection and suppression systems of all identified buildings and their associated infrastructure within the defined property limits in a manner and to a standard that will not cause the fire detection and suppression systems to deteriorate beyond normal wear and tear throughout the contract term. The Contractor will also be responsible for the data collection and verification of all fire protection systems and devices while performing system inspections and provide the data/reports to DCC for updating an electronic database.
The estimated cost for this opportunity is in the order of $1,000,000 per year. The intent is to have a three (3) year contract with two (2) possible one (1) year extensions for a total opportunity of five (5) years.
It is anticipated that this procurement will be initiated in the spring of 2016. This is conditional on the project receiving approval to proceed by DND.
