Steam Boiler Replacement and Component Upgrades Project

Nature of Work:
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada general scope of work for this project would be replace existing low pressure steam boilers with new cast iron sectional boilers including all necessary modification to existing piping systems to facilitate installation of new boilers. A complete new breeching system and all associated electrical work. Also included in work under this project is the replacement of the condensate pump heads in the Base building as well as the supply of spare heads for the condensate pumps located in the Buoy Shed.
Bidders are instructed to consult the appended tender package for further details and specific requirements.
Site Locations: Canadian Coast Guard Building at 280 Southside Road, St. John's, NL
Start Date: Upon Award.
Completion Date: All work to be completed by 18 April 2014
Bid Bond: A Bid Bond is required
Mandatory Site Visit: is to be held on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2014 at 2:00pm local time at the Canadian Coast Guard Building at 280 Southside Road, St. John's, NL. It is a requirement for all persons wishing to tender on this project to attend this meeting at the site to familiarize themselves fully with the scope of work and the tendering requirements.
Security Requirements: Escorts will be provided if needed.

Bidders should note that all questions regarding this request for proposals must be submitted in writing, No Later Than January 28th, 2014, 2 pm (14:00 Hours) ATLANTIC TIME to the contract authority as set out in section 18 of annex 1- offer of services / contract form. The department will be unable to respond to questions submitted after that date.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada will not necessarily accept the lowest or any of the tenders received and reserves the right to reject any and all tenders received which shall be final and at the sole discretion of the Department.
