Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)’s ecoENERGY Efficiency for Vehicles’ (FleetSmart) introduces on-road Canadian fleets free advice on energy-efficient business practices and vehicles to reduce fuel consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and operations costs, to increase productivity and competitiveness. Within this mandate, FleetSmart offers SmartDriver for Highway Trucking (SDHT) training to teach professional operators fuel-efficient driving practices. SDHT has been redeveloped into an electronic/web-based curriculum to meet the industry’s growing demand for efficient drivers of heavy-duty tractor-trailers. Its new design allows online learning, classroom training and on-road practice and trainers to tailor the content based on the type of training required.
The purpose of this contract is engage the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association in the promotion and delivery of new SDHT training to its membership of professional fleet drivers, owner-operators and fleet managers.
