This Salmon Stewardship Coordinator project will provide support for the Stream to Sea program, to help meet the objectives of increasing students’ awareness of Yukon River salmon and salmon habitat, fostering an environmental stewardship ethic, and promoting fisheries sustainability.
The Yukon Schools Lead Salmon Stewardship Coordinator position will be responsible for the delivery of the Stream to Sea aquatic ecosystem-based education program to Yukon Schools in the 2013-2014 school year, for providing a Yukon River salmon focus to the program, and for working with Yukon community organizations and personnel to secure support for the program after completion of this project.

DFO requires a contractor to deliver the Stream to Sea Program, including classroom salmon incubation, in Yukon Schools, to build community capacity for future program delivery, to develop an exit strategy, and to provide a report on the Stream to Sea activities, the school and community engagement and the exit strategy.

You are invited to submit a proposal to provide professional support to Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Sealed proposals will be accepted until 2:00 PM, Atlantic Time, Wednesday, October 30, 2013.
