Work Description:
Work under this contract covers the refurbishment of the Federal
Heritage Designated Triple Island Light Station located
approximately 30km west of Prince Rupert, B.C. where Brown
Passage converges on Dixon Entrance. The three storey plus light
tower structure, constructed of reinforced concrete, was built
between 1917 and 1921 and shares the largest of a group of three
islets with a helicopter pad, a separate small storage building
and fuel tanks. All normal light station functions, including
but not limited to: navigational aids, communications and
electrical power must remain operational during all new work.
Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules
within the scope of work.

Only bids from Bidders that meet the mandatory requirements of
the Qualifications Form will be considered further.
The bid shall be submitted following a "two-envelope" procedure
in which the Bidder submits the Qualifications Form and any
required associated document(s) in envelope 1, and the Bid and
Acceptance Form and any required associated document(s) in
envelope 2. Both envelopes shall be enclosed and sealed together
in a third envelope, the bid envelope. All envelopes are to be
provided by the Bidder.
Mandatory Site Visit:
The site visit for this project is MANDATORY. The representative
of the bidder will be required to sign the Site Visit Attendance
Sheet at the site visit. Bids submitted by Bidders who have not
signed the attendance sheet will not be accepted.
There will be a mandatory site visit on April 28, 2015 at 8:00am
PDST. Interested bidders are to meet at the gate of Seal Cove
Base Coast Guard Base in Prince Rupert, B.C.
Note: If helicopters are unable to fly due to terrible weather
condition, the site visit will be postponed to April 29, 2015 at
8:00a.m. PDST.

later than April 24 , 2015 for helicopter arrangement.

Delivery Date:
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification
of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to
be completed within twenty (20) weeks of contract award.

To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project
is estimated to cost between
$3,200,000.00 - $3,700,000.00.
