Work Description:
The project includes the rehabilitation of the existing pavement
surface composed f Bituminous Surface Treatment (BST) on base
gravel's and placement of Asphalt Concrete Pavement (ACP) from
Km 250+650 to 258+080 on the Alaska Highway between Fort St.
John and Fort nelson, B.C.

For reference, Dawson Creek is at Km 0, Fort St. John is at
approximately Km 75 and Fort Nelson is at approximately Km 455
on the Alaska Highway.

The work under this contract generally comprises of the
following but is not limited to:
1. Removal, temporary storage, and reinstate existing
concrete barriers.
2. Removal and disposal of existing corrugated steel pipes.
Install 600 mm diameter and 900 mm diameter corrugated steel
pipes.
3. Base preparation including grading surplus winter sand,
scarifying mixing, re-grading to design lines and grades, and
compaction of existing pavement surface (BST and granular
material) to a condition ready for asphalt concrete pavement.
4. Supply and placement of asphalt primer, asphalt tack coat,
and asphalt concrete pavement including the manufacture of
asphalt concrete pavement aggregate.
5. Install of temporary line markings.
6. Manufacturer (if necessary) and install of gravel
shouldering.
7. Install permanent traffic signs.
8. Provide and run a construction camp as necessary.
9. Environmental protection and monitoring.
10. Force account work (if required).
12. Supply and maintain of all traffic control for the duration
of the work.
13. Quality Management.

Delivery Date:
The work is to be completed by September 30, 2012.

Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
is estimated to cost between
$4,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00.
